About the position
We are seeking someone to offer administrative and operational support to the management team to ensure the smooth operation of all CAAPS programs. Support CAAPS’ operations by integrating the Culture, Vision, Values, and Mission into your work.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
- Provide general administrative support to all managers where required, including managing calendars, preparing documents, presentations and reports, and managing communications.
- Maintain and organise CAAPS filing systems according to procedures and administrative standards.
- Contribute to a safe working environment by identifying, reporting, and addressing potential hazards, incidents, and accidents in line with CAAPS Policies, Procedures, and WHS legislation.
- Ensure offices and common areas are tidy and well-presented.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings as necessary. Produce meeting agendas, keep and distribute meeting minutes accurately.
- Work collaboratively as a positive member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in quality assurance processes, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Participate in relevant training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate a commitment to a drug-free lifestyle; undergo a drug test upon employment and as requested by Management.
- Fulfill other duties as required within the scope of this position.
Your skills, experience and qualifications include:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to meet the diverse needs of others.
- Dedication to meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-cultural environment.
- Ability to present a friendly, helpful, and positive image of CAAPS, with excellent telephone etiquette in line with CAAPS Customer Service Standards.
- Proficiency in using Windows software on personal computers, with practical word processing abilities and strong keyboard skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality in the role.
- Experience in records management, data entry, report generation and minute taking.
- Proven experience or a Certificate in Administration or related field would be advantageous.

Administration Officer

We are seeking someone to offer administrative assistance for CAAPS programs, serving as the initial point of contact, and providing administrative support to stakeholders inquiring about or accessing CAAPS services and programs.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
- Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient operation of all CAAPS programs.
- Welcome and assist visitors, respond to emails, and handle phone calls.
- Maintain and organise CAAPS filing systems according to procedures and administrative standards.

Family Support Services (FSS) Worker

About the position
You will offer intensive support primarily referred from the Department of Territory Families Housing and Communities (DTFHC) and, utilising a strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally affirming approach, provide practical in-home support and child-centered, family-led casework to establish nurturing environments, enhance capacity, and maintain the safety and unity of families.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
- Offer impactful in-home support, engage in collaborative casework, establish referral pathways, and organise group activities.
- Cultivate cooperative relationships with stakeholders, expand service provider networks, and strengthen community connections.
- Ensure the upkeep of administration, client records, and fulfill reporting obligations.
- Implement empowering practices and contribute to the enhancement of service quality.
- Family Support Workers will be required to engage in regular clinical supervision as part of their ongoing professional development, to ensure reflective practice, support emotional wellbeing, enhance service delivery, and maintain a high standard of trauma-informed, client-centred care.
Your skills, experience and qualifications include:
- Academic qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, or a relevant field (progress in ongoing studies may be considered).
- Practical experience in working with high-risk/vulnerable families in family support/case work, showcasing a track record of effective client engagement, adaptability, culturally safe approaches, and positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with connections to Aboriginal family networks, organisations, and communities.
- Capability and willingness to conduct home visits, offer in-home support, and provide practical assistance, collaborating with families to establish physically and emotionally secure environments conducive to the thriving of children and families.
- Devotion to working with families to implement child safety/family well-being plans, fostering parenting skills, stabilising homes, mitigating child protection and domestic/family violence risks, and preserving family unity.

About the position
The Key Worker will provide front line service delivery working directly with families, young people, and other relevant stakeholders. Identify, assess, and respond to the strengths and needs of families and young people accessing Darrandirra Child and Family Centre (CFC) seeking assistance.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
- Establish and maintain community networks to advocate for young people and families to assist access to required support services.
- Support people and families to participate in centre-based activities and facilitate appropriate “warm” referrals to respond to identified needs.
- Support case planning, coordinate supports and culturally appropriate referral pathways for individuals and families accessing the CFC.
- Complete all administrative tasks, reporting and compliance duties accurately and in a timely manner in adherence with role requirements and CAAPS policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of an environment that is safe, culturally inclusive, and promotes wellbeing and developmental outcomes for young people, and families.
- Conduct and facilitate small community forums, programs, and activities.
Your skills, experience and qualifications include:
- Relevant VET qualification (e.g., Cert III or IV Community Services), Aboriginal Primary Health Care or equivalent tertiary qualification or working towards.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse people including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people.
- Demonstrable awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and current issues impacting on the lives of Aboriginal people and community, inclusive of an understanding of the local Darwin region and people of the Stolen Generations.
- Demonstrated ability to apply early intervention and prevention activities that support the wellbeing of young people and families.
- Experience working within strengths-based frameworks to support vulnerable people.
- Compassion, empathy, a sense of justice and tolerance.
- A team player – the ability to collaborate with others with openness and trust.
- Adaptable and resilient to be able to work within challenging situations.
- Ability to represent CAAPS in an appropriate manner at all times.
- Demonstrated effective communication including verbal, written and computer skills.
