Salary: Level 3, $137,428 - $150,385 per annum (pro‑rata) (SEA GA 2023)

Program Coordinator – Strings is a permanent full‑time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS), a large service provider that delivers instrumental instruction to students from Years 3 to 12 across metropolitan and country schools.

Responsibilities

- Provide educational leadership guided by the IMSS Pedagogical Framework and School Plan, focusing on the quality of Strings teaching, administrative supervision, and staff performance development.
- Liaise with the Executive and allied professional teams on resource management for Strings instruction, including suitable staff deployment and instrument management.
- Lead the school community to accept and develop opportunities for improved Strings performance, participating in decision‑making processes and actively promoting Department of Education policies and IMSS strategies to teachers, administrators, staff and the community.
- Model a culture of self‑reflection and improvement by coaching and mentoring, promoting professional growth and leadership capabilities within teams.
- Maintain a teaching role, demonstrating a high level of teaching competence in the Arts, Music area of Strings teaching and an understanding of the stylistic requirements of the context.

Qualifications

- Effective change strategies, leadership experience and a passion for music education through the Strings Learning Area.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage physical and financial resources.
- Knowledge of specific instrumental pedagogy, music literacy, and general curriculum trends in music education.
- Hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or possess a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

Some regional travel is required in this role; this will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
