Company

For 81 years, we've achieved success through our ability to innovate, placing a clear emphasis on how we best serve our customers’ needs. As demand continues to grow, we have expanded rapidly, now delivering a superior range of dry goods, frozen and chilled products, fresh seafood and meat, confectionery, paper products, and cleaning solutions.

In recent years, we’ve seen significant growth and invested in our systems and processes, building a close partnership with Woolworths Group that has continued to deliver high-quality service for our customers and suppliers.

In 2024, Woolworths moved to a 100% interest in the PFD business, bringing PFD exciting opportunities as a strategic part of the Group. Sharing expertise across both teams will ensure our continued success and drive further growth and unlock our collective potential.

About this Position

At PFD, we bring people together through food. Behind every delivery, every customer interaction, and every meal shared, there’s a team of passionate people working to protect, grow, and transform how we operate.

This role sits at the heart of that purpose, helping shape the future of how our transport network operates safely, efficiently, and sustainably across Australia.

The Program Manager - COR/Transformation will lead the delivery of PFD’s national transport transformation program over a 9-month fixed term contract, driving integration across systems, processes, and stakeholders.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced program leader who thrives on collaboration and influencing across Operations, Transport, HR, Sales, and IT. You’ll turn strategy into action and embedding best-practice Chain of Responsibility (COR) and safety frameworks that keep our people, customers, and communities safe.

Key Responsibilities

- Program Delivery: Oversee the implementation of key initiatives under PFD’s COR and Transport Strategy, ensuring milestones and outcomes are achieved on time and within scope.
- Systems Integration: Manage programs involving multiple system implementations (e.g. Logmaster, Telematics, logistics and routing tools), ensuring alignment between operational and digital processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted partnerships across Operations, Transport, HR, Sales, and IT to influence, communicate, and embed change effectively.
- Governance & Reporting: Produce program reports, track deliverables, and present updates to senior and executive stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply strong program management discipline and analytical capability (ideally with experience using Microsoft analytics tools) to identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Safety & Compliance Leadership: Support PFD’s Primary Duty of Care by enabling training, consultation, and supervision to ensure a safe work environment. Lead by example to promote a strong safety and compliance culture in line with legislation, PFD policies, and our Code of Conduct

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means becoming quickly embedded into PFD’s culture and building strong relationships, communicating with respect and clarity, and getting things done without fuss.

You’ll have a solid grasp of the transport transformation roadmap and deliver key program milestones on time and in full, while keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.

Ultimately, success is defined by trust, delivery, and momentum and being known as someone who follows through, makes things happen, and helps the business move forward with confidence.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

- Proven program management experience within FMCG, logistics, or transport operations.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability, with a track record of delivering change in complex environments.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of freight operations, NHVR regulations, Chain of Responsibility, and the Heavy Vehicle National Law.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment and influencing across diverse business functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams), with experience using Power BI preferred.
- Familiarity with Transport Management Systems, Telematics, and Incident Management Systems.

What PFD is Offering the Successful Candidate

We are offering competitive remuneration, superannuation and other staff benefits (such as discounts on staff purchases, discounted accommodation, health insurance and banking).
