The Company
A well-capitalised Australian asset-finance group is entering its next stage of scale. Backed by patient institutional shareholders, the business currently focuses exclusively on secured lending for marine assets around Australia, with a keen eye to expand into adjacent consumer asset-backed categories. The executive team is collaborative and commercially minded, investing in modern systems, trustworthy data and right-sized governance so the organisation can grow with confidence while meeting regulatory expectations.
The Role
As CIO, you will shape the technology strategy and make it real across the enterprise. You’ll define the target architecture, sequence a pragmatic roadmap and align platforms, data, security and infrastructure to enable growth in a consumer-focused lending environment while keeping the stack adaptable for future adjacent asset classes. You’ll lead a capable internal team and an ecosystem of vendors, streamline end-to-end processes and remove friction so credit, operations, finance and customer experience move in sync. Success looks like stable core systems, trusted data, higher delivery velocity and technology that is visibly tied to business performance. Your duties may include but not be limited to:
- Develop three-year technology strategy aligned to the corporate plan and funding horizons
- Integrate enterprise platforms (ERP/CRM/HRIS/data) that reduce manual work, risk and cycle times
- Instil a culture based on trusted data with pragmatic BI, self-serve reporting and clear ownership of quality and lineage
- Lead uplift in cyber, identity, resilience and recovery with tested playbooks
- Champion disciplined delivery that ships on time, in scope and on budget with transparent governance
- Nurture or develop a high-performing team and partners with clear KPIs, career paths and a continuous-improvement mindset
About You
You’re a strategic technology leader who keeps ego out of the room and results on the board. You translate business goals into crisp technology priorities, then lead teams and partners to execute without drama. You communicate simply, listen actively and bring people with you through change. You balance speed with control, standards with practicality and long-term architecture with near-term wins. Experience in asset finance (marine or adjacent secured lending) will help you hit the ground running.
Skills & Experience
- Senior technology leadership in financial services, lending, or fintech
- Proven delivery across ERP, CRM, HRIS, and data platforms, including complex integrations and APIs
- Robust program governance, portfolio management, and vendor accountability
- Strong knowledge of cyber security, privacy, resilience, and compliant-by-design operating models
- Data and analytics uplift across architecture, quality, lineage, modelling, and BI adoption
- Clear communicator and people leader who recruits well, develops talent, and builds durable teams
What’s on Offer
- Executive seat shaping company strategy and the technology that underpins it
- A clear mandate to modernise platforms, data and delivery rhythms with a pragmatic ELT
- Backing from long-term shareholders, a healthy balance sheet and a culture that rewards outcomes
- Competitive executive package with scope to create visible, enterprise-level impact
