(Apply in 3 Minutes) Plant Mechanic

Your new role as a workshop Plant Mechanic will report to the Workshop Supervisor in a permanent full‑time residential position based in Kalgoorlie.

The Plant Mechanic is responsible for carrying out scheduled maintenance, service, and repairs including diagnosing all Caterpillar machines.

This WesTrac branch is in Kalgoorlie, WA and is an authorised Caterpillar dealership where you can find a wide range of Cat products, parts, services and technologies. Our Kalgoorlie team provides Cat machinery solutions to suit any earthmoving business, including new and used equipment sales, heavy equipment rental, and parts, servicing, and merchandise.

Location: Kalgoorlie – must be residential or willing to relocate with own housing.

Roster: 8 days on, 6 off – 10.5 hrs each day (incl. 30‑minute meal break).

What You’ll Do

- Perform scheduled and daily maintenance servicing and inspections of mobile mining earthmoving and ancillary plant equipment.

- Maintain accurate lubricant records and machine hours for each piece of equipment.

- Provide support to our tradespersons through the maintenance process safely and efficiently.

- Report faults/defects and complete service reports using CAT Inspect.

- Operate the forklift.

- Implement product improvement plans.

Skills & Experience

- Australian Driver's Licence – Light Rigid OR Medium Rigid.

- Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Technology trade certificate with post‑trade experience.

- High‑Risk Work Licence – Forklift (FL), Dogging (DG), Rigging (RG), Working at Heights (WAH), Confined Spaces (CSE).

- Strong computer literacy with verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience in maintenance servicing of heavy equipment (mobile plant / ancillary).

- Excellent customer service and safety focus.

- Confident to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team.
