About the role

As the HR Applications Team Leader, you will lead a team of technical application specialists to ensure the effective management and support of key HR systems, along with ongoing development using release management processes.

This role is critical in bridging People & Culture, Enterprise Technology and vendor partners to ensure system stability, performance, data integrity and continuous improvement aligned with the ABC's needs.

- Provide outstanding team and technical leadership, including mentoring, training, career development, and performance management, with a focus on HR systems currently centered on UKG Workforce Management.
- Lead and continuously improve release management practices, including planning, scheduling, stakeholder collaboration, and agile delivery, ensuring alignment with governance standards and compliance requirements.
- Oversee system configuration, maintenance, and support to uphold cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory compliance across HR applications.
- Manage incident and problem resolution for HR systems and interfaces, ensuring responsive, customer-focused support and proactive issue identification through monitoring and alerts.
- Lead the planning and execution of releases, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to manage the backlog, create detailed release plans and ensure all necessary approvals, testing and compliance requirements are in place.
- Develop and execute test strategies and plans to mitigate implementation risks and ensure release quality, including environment management and deployment coordination across development, testing, and production.
- Conduct impact analysis of system release notes and coordinate data refreshes to support testing and maintain data integrity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of updates, risks, and issues, and managing support contracts to deliver value and meet service levels.

About you

- Demonstrated experience in leading a technical team to provide support for HR applications in a complex technical environment, with a strong focus on UKG Workforce Management and familiarity with broader enterprise HR platforms such as SAP HR and SuccessFactors or similar, and their associated interfaces.
- Proven experience in release management within regulated IT environments, preferably with UKG Pro Workforce Management or similar workforce management systems.
- Demonstrated experience working in an agile environment using Kanban boards and owning the planning and delivery of release schedules.(JIRA experience preferred).
- Extensive experience with test management, processes and tools to ensure release quality and compliance.
- Demonstrated outstanding knowledge and experience in the day-to-day use of ITIL processes (incident, problem and change management) and experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
- Well-developed skills in critical thinking and problem-solving, with demonstrated consistent high-level motivation and ability to proactively identify and action risks, issues and areas for improvement through process optimisation.
- Outstanding leadership skills with experience leading and managing teams, projects or work streams ensuring achievement of milestones.
- Outstanding knowledge of application technologies, platforms and architectures, including SaaS platforms, system integration and application interfaces (eg. Dell Boomi), and cyber security concepts.
- Outstanding collaborative ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including product & project managers, support vendors, and technical staff, with highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
