About the Role
As the Management Accountant, you will play a key role in preparing annual budgets, management accounts, and financial forecasts for the NLC. Working under the guidance of the Senior Management Accountant, you will provide financial analysis and insights that strengthen decision‑making and support the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing financial performance and trends across business units;
- Preparing variance reports and supporting budget planning;
- Reconciling accounts and ensuring the accuracy of reporting;
- Assisting with grant acquittal processes and cost recovery mechanisms; and
- Contributing to continuous improvement of financial management practices.

About You
You are a proactive and detail‑oriented professional with strong analytical and communication skills, confident working with data, systems, and people alike.
You will bring:
- Qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline (progress toward or completion of CA or CPA highly regarded);
- Demonstrated experience in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports;
- Proven analytical skills for interpreting complex financial information;
- High-level computer literacy, including Excel and financial systems (Sage or similar);
- Experience with grant funding and reporting processes; and
- Eligibility to work in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with work rights).

We offer:
- Competitive base salary of $102,669 per annum plus 15% superannuation;
- Salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 p.a. (plus meal and accommodation benefits up to $2,650);
- District allowance of up to $4,884 per annum (with dependents) or $2,678 (without).
- Five (5) weeks annual leave, leave loading, 18 days personal leave;
- Annual airfare benefit after 12 months of service (net value $3,177); and
- The opportunity to work in a modern new office in Berrimah, designed to enhance collaboration, wellbeing, and sustainability.
The NLC’s annual close‑down period will run from 22 December 2025 to 4 January 2026. The organisation will relocate to its new Berrimah office in early January, with new employees commencing from 20 January 2026.
