City of Melbourne, Australia Plexus Services Pty Full time

We are Plexus, a fast-growing global legal tech business in an industry that is still at the early stages, and we’re on a mission to transform the value of legal services. Our innovative products are already loved by over 200 of the world’s leading brands including L’Oréal, Woolies, Coca-Cola, Lion and Nike. As we continue to grow our position in legal tech, we have big plans for our products' future, incorporating AI to drive further growth and innovation.

Plexus people are relentlessly curious and dedicated to challenging the status quo. We are client obsessed, we believe in being the best version of ourselves, we start with a growth mindset and positive intent. We set the bar high, are outcome-focused and avoid anything that gets in the way of achieving great results. We embrace change, as there are no maps for our journey ahead. This is an exciting opportunity for those who thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.

The Team

The Marketing Suite legal team performs vital functions that are integral to our operations. These include drafting and reviewing promotion terms and conditions, conducting advertising reviews for both trade promotions and general marketing campaigns, offering consumer law advice to clients, and preparing and reviewing various contracts and legal documents such as winner releases, prize supplier and fulfilment contracts, and image releases. Additionally, our team manages all trade promotion-related activities, including conducting draws, notifying winners, publishing winner announcements, and handling permit applications. Our primary goal is to provide an exceptional support experience to all clients and users of the Marketing Suite services.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing team, one where you will make an impact on our customers and their success and growth with Plexus.

The Role

The Marketing Suite lawyer is responsible for support on the legal and administrative side of trade promotion and advertising campaigns. You will collaborate with our team of lawyers to ensure we are delivering an exceptional customer experience while meeting our KPIs.

We are looking for someone who can help us build out our capabilities and accelerate our growth across our ANZ and international markets. Plexus is defining the Legal Tech space, and this role would suit someone who loves to work in great teams, who thinks long-term, and who wants to build a legacy at one of Australia’s fastest-growing tech companies.

The core pillars of this role:

- Legal Support: review of trade promotion terms and conditions automated via the Plexus Promotion app and review of 3rd party client terms, advertising review and advice, drafting legal contracts (e.g. winner release, prize supplier agreements) and other legal support tasks as required.
- Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional experience through the customer lifecycle, including handling client-facing communications, responding to client inquiries, job management, etc.
- Administrative Support: Lodging permit applications to government departments for trade promotions and involvement in other administrative aspects of permit lodgement, facilitating draws, winner notification and winner publication.

Critically: this role requires someone who is tenacious, hands-on, and who can collaborate across a wide stakeholder set to get things done. We’re looking for someone adaptable who is capable of moving between the strategic parts of the role and getting their hands dirty with execution if needed.

Responsibilities

- Provide responsive, commercial advice in the consumer law space.
- Complete legal review of terms and conditions for promotions and review and provide advice on a variety of advertising material for our clientele which includes brands such as L’Oreal, Coca-Cola, Woolworths, Lion and Medibank.
- Draft and review an array of other legal agreements and contracts in the marketing and advertising space including winner release forms and prize supplier agreements.
- Complete general administrative tasks pertaining to end-to-end management of client matters and trade promotion related administrative tasks (e.g. trade promotion permit lodgement, emailing/calling various lottery government departments for updates/follow up on permits, finalising costs for invoicing, conducting draws, etc).
- Deliver great success to clients that results in active client-to-client referral and drag-along referral from individuals that move between roles and employers.
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue through cross sell and product improvement.
- Provide ideas for improvement of systems, workflow and processes.
- Ensure we hit our client responsiveness and delivery KPIs
- Identify client risks and opportunities to ensure the client is realising the maximum value from their MS offering
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks that would impact our ability to deliver to goal

Your Background

- Minimum of 1 year experience in legal practice. Background in consumer, advertising and/or trade promotion law is highly regarded but not mandatory.
- Strong verbal and written skills - can effectively, clearly and confidently communicate to all levels of the business and customers
- Very high attention to detail
- Time Management - excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Agile learner - Able to learn and take on new / changing ideas quickly.
- Strong problem solver - Able to diagnose client objectives and suggest potential solutions - even when there is no established process or answer.

Plexus is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome and encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities and industries, and are committed to having a diverse team who, together, will kick huge, exciting, and impactful goals.
