The Manager, Event Media & PR, ASEAN will oversee and manage media, PR and communications-related functions and services for SPORTFIVE Events in Southeast Asia.

The role will focus on developing, producing and distributing event materials and information, managing event media assets, collaborating cross-functionally with various SPORTFIVE teams, sport governing bodies, rights-holders, Member Associations (MAs) and clubs, liaising with members of the media and supporting Corporate Communications APAC. The primary goal will be to raise the awareness of the events and particularly the brands associated with them.

DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

- Content Creation and Distribution
- Develop, write, produce and distribute top quality event-related materials and content including press releases, announcements, match previews and reports, feature articles, media kits and other relevant information
- Develop key messaging and compelling narratives supported by research, and style guidelines to maintain consistency in visual and written content to create strong, cohesive event and brand communications across all channels
- Ensure that the various content is tailored for multiple channels, primarily print and web
- Coordinate the design and production of editorially and visually compelling materials for press kits, virtual Media Centre and event promotions in collaboration with various internal teams and external service providers
- Media Asset Management
- Develop, manage and maintain event media assets, including the events’ virtual Media Centre and corresponding subscriber base, ensuring updates and accessibility
- Manage the distribution and use of rights-owned photos and videos by media and ensure compliance with company policies
- Media Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage contractual deliverables with Official Media Partners in alignment with partnership and event objectives
- Liaise with governing bodies and their MAs and clubs on media activities and deliverables in relation to the events. This includes working closely with MAs and clubs to support media coverage and engagement in their local markets, and to promote the events, teams, players and coaches through interviews and other opportunities.
- Media Relationship Management
- Develop and build strong relationships with members of the media including journalists, editors, broadcasters, and key news, sports and industry outlets and publications
- Serve as the first point of contact for event-related media inquiries and deliver timely responses
- Maintain the company’s media database and ensure it is up-to-date
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and analyse the effectiveness of media relations efforts, providing regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement
- Identify best practices, and stay ahead of industry trends
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with SPORTFIVE’s ASEAN Event Operations, Client Services and Digital teams on integrated strategies and development of content for event marketing, promotions, PR and digital/social campaigns
- Support the planning and execution of event and partner-related press conferences and media events, including content preparation and media materials such as messaging
- Support visual content creation in collaboration with designers, photographers and videographers, by providing copy and copyediting for various event-related materials.
- Collaborate with internal teams, partners and external service providers to amplify the reach of promotional activities.
- Corporate Communications Support
- Provide ongoing support to APAC Corporate Communications for cross-functional engagement with the company’s Global Communications team on event content and other areas as and when required.
