About the role

The Occupational Therapist Level 3 is responsible for assessment and therapy to Calvary Mater patients (in and outpatient settings if required) to assist with safe discharges and/or the treatment of patients during their admission and outpatient treatment period.

Key Responsibilities

- Assessment of occupational therapy unit input with the Occupational Therapist-in-Charge.

- Involvement with departmental quality management activities
- Maintain, facilitate independence in activities of daily living for clients.
- Organise and participate in therapeutic group programs for aged patients.
- Prescription of suitable aids, equipment and alternations/techniques to assist with management of clients.
- Develop and participate in workplace education, eg hospital in services, interest groups etc
- Participate in surveys, evaluations and clinical research activities pertaining to Occupational Therapy as appropriate.
- Supervise students, technical assistants and volunteers when appropriate.

What you bring

- Recognised completed degree in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
- Minimum three (3) years post graduate experience with experience or demonstrated interest in Oncology/Haematology.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Commitment to customer service and quality assurance.
