The Opportunity

In this senior role, you will take the lead on the overall performance and day‑to‑day running of a busy major regional shopping centre in Brisbane. You will guide and support an onsite team across operations, marketing, accounts and administration, while working closely with leasing and development to optimise the tenancy mix and support new initiatives. A key part of your focus will be building strong retailer relationships, driving customer experience and ensuring the centre is seen as the local community’s preferred place to shop and spend time. You will also take ownership of budgets, reporting and risk, overseeing all aspects of facilities management, safety, security and presentation so the asset performs at its best commercially and operationally.

Key Responsibilities

- Developing and executing the centre’s strategic and annual operational plans

- Maximising income through effective retailer relationships, arrears management and cost control

- Supporting leasing activity through market research, competitor analysis and monitoring rental levels

- Guiding and approving marketing and promotional activity that grows traffic, sales and customer loyalty

- Maintaining the property to a high standard of presentation with robust planned maintenance programmes

- Ensuring full compliance with all statutory, risk and safety requirements and industry codes of practice

- Building strong relationships with retailers, contractors, community groups and local authorities

- Coaching, mentoring and performance managing the centre team to achieve shared goals

About You

- Proven experience managing a sizeable shopping centre or comparable retail property

- Strong financial and commercial skills including budgeting, forecasting and reporting

- Demonstrated success in retailer relationship management and tenancy mix optimisation

- Solid understanding of marketing, operations and risk within a retail property environment

- Confident leadership style with the ability to coach, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal

- A proactive, accountable and solution‑focused approach with high professional standards
