We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join Centacare North Queensland as the Manager of the Family Relationship Centre in Townsville.

As the Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the operations of the Family Relationship Centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to individuals and families in need.

  • Program oversight for the suite of services - Regional Family Dispute Resolution (RFDR), Family Relationship Centre (FRC), Family Law Pathways Network (FLPN) including program performance, outcomes evaluation and management, management of staff and all other associated operational requirements and day to day operational needs.
  • Ensure recommendations and related practices comply with the Family Law Act 1975 (the Act) and the Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners) Regulations 2008 (the FDRP Regulations) and other legislative requirements.
  • Undertake family dispute resolution and case management with clients of the RFDR and FRC programs when required and maintain accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant theoretical models and frameworks (FDR, conflict resolution, child development and child-inclusive mediation) to ensure FDR practice is appropriate to client needs.
  • Maintain and ensure ongoing best practice approaches to the development of the program's services, practice models, outcomes measurement and ongoing performance monitoring of service delivery in line with funding body and organisational requirements.
  • Management of the daily operation of the program including Staff support and management, practice direction, client waitlists and allocations.
  • Seek out and maintain knowledge of broader elements related to program functioning including relevant
  • Maintain a strong professional network and profile in the broader community for the program suite and its objectives across the service footprint.
  • Participation and contribution to business development activities including funding submissions, aimed at increasing service delivery options for customers and clients of CentacareNQ.
  • Maintain an active, collaborative role as a member of the management team to support best practice strategies and approaches at a program level and contribute to the broader attainment of the Strategic and operational goals of the broader organisation
  • This position is required to report to the Director of Client Services at CentacareNQ, Department of Social Services, the Attorney General's Department and our External contractors.
  • An ability to articulate a deep understanding of family functioning in a broad range of cultural and social contexts and the impact of separation within families.

Skills and Experiences:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Law, or Family Dispute Resolution / Mediation.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in family law contexts and environments, Children and Family Services at state and federal levels.
  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or currently eligible to obtain registration under the accreditation standards set out in the FDRP Regulations.
  • Experience in family dispute resolution and child-focussed practices and the ability to articulate the family dispute resolution process.
  • Qualifications in Conflict Management, mediation or dispute resolution or higher education award in a field or discipline that is relevant to the provision of FDR services or Vocational or Graduate Diploma in a field or discipline that is relevant to the provision of FDR.
  • A current Driver Licence.
  • Currently hold, and/or eligibility to obtain and maintain, both a Disability Worker Screening and a Working with Children Blue Card.
  • This position will involve overnight travel on occasions and outreach service.
