A loving and busy family in Shorncliffe, Queensland, is looking for an energetic and nurturing nanny to care for their two children, aged 5 months and 2.5 years. The normal days are: 1-2 days per week (Mon or Tues, or both) from 07:30 am – 3:00 pm.

An ideal nanny will have at least 3 years of experience, a driver’s license, be patient, genuine, and possess exceptional communication skills.

A typical day or week for the nanny would include assisting with morning routines, supporting free play, preparing morning tea, and heading out for exercise or a community outing such as a trip to the library. After returning home for lunch, there would be a rest or nap time. The afternoons are usually relaxed, with activities like light meal preparation and engaging the toddler in simple chores when possible.

The family has 3 friendly dogs, who do not need any care. With no local support network, you will play a vital role as an integral part of their family.

The carer's responsibilities for this role will be as follows:

- To care for both children throughout the day
- Follow the children’s routine
- Play and engage in age-appropriate activities to assist in the children’s development
- General tidying up after the children and light household chores
- Prepare and cook healthy meals and snacks

The family’s expectations from their nanny are:

- 3+ years of experience as a nanny or working in childcare
- Childcare qualifications preferred
- Experience with young babies and toddlers
- Full driver’s license
- Have a current first aid certificate (or be happy to obtain one)
- Have a current Working With Children’s Check
- Display strong communication skills and speak great English
- Non-smoking
