Just imagine a future with us...

Aurecon is a design, engineering and advisory company, but not as you know it

Drawing on our deep pool of technical and advisory expertise, we co-create innovative solutions with our clients to some of the world's most complex challenges. And through a range of unique creative processes and skills, we work to re-imagine, shape and design a better future.

What will you do?

Are you ready to take the next step in your ecology career with a consultancy delivering some of Australia’s most complex and high-impact infrastructure projects?

We’re looking for a Biodiversity Lead to join our New South Wales biodiversity team which is part of our Environment & Planning Practice. You’ll lead a passionate team of ecologists, backed by a national network and some of the most respected experts in the industry.

This is your chance to work on meaningful projects that matter — from renewable energy and major transport corridors to Defence, water and built environment developments — helping to protect and enhance the natural world while shaping sustainable communities.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor a team of ecologists, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture
- Provide technical oversight of ecological and biodiversity assessments including BDAR approvals, ensuring quality and compliance
- Deliver and manage projects end-to-end — from scoping and fieldwork to reporting, client liaison, and approvals
- Collaborate with our National biodiversity team to shape Aurecon’s ecology offering and thought leadership
- Through strong relationships with clients, consultants and regulators, work actively to develop the business and grow projects and the team.
- Support proposals, and strategic planning initiatives

What you’ll bring:

- Ideally be BAM accredited
- Extensive experience in biodiversity ideally within consulting settings with transport or energy market.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capability, with a passion for developing others.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver quality outcomes under time and budget constraints.
- Proficiency in biodiversity legislation, impact assessments, and approvals processes (including NSW BAM and EPBC Act referrals).
- Established presence in NSW with clients and regulators.

Join Aurecon and help reimagine how ecology and infrastructure can co-exist to deliver better outcomes for people and the planet.

How will your future be shaped by us?

Joining Aurecon means being part of an award-winning business at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. The AFR ranked us in the top 5 sustainability leaders and top 3 most innovative companies in professional services. We’ve also received an Innovative Design Award from One Consult and were named Consult Australia’s Large Firm of the Year.

You’ll have access to flexible work hours and remote work options, plus working holidays, part-time and job share arrangements. When it comes to your development, you’ll have the opportunity to build your technical mastery through the Aurecon Design Academy. No matter your path through the business, you’ll be supported every step of the way with mentoring, leadership training and ongoing learning.

Outside of work, we offer competitive paid parental leave, cultural public holiday swaps, and a range of wellbeing support programs.

Ready to bring ideas to life?

Then please apply. Remember, it’s you and how you bring ideas to life which are important. Your background, unique needs and individuality will be valued. Visit our website to learn more at www.aurecongroup.com or you can apply now

We appreciate the interest of our agency partners, however we're not engaging external recruitment support for this opportunity at this stage.
