Location: Wacol, Brisbane
Fleet Solutions is part of City Standards Branch and maintains Council vehicles, light and heavy machinery, trucks, pavers, minor plant, forklifts, compressors, and many other assorted items.
The purpose of this role is to undertake Leading Hand duties for a team of Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanics who look after the repair, maintenance and servicing of vehicles, plant and equipment to meet customer needs, optimise fleet utilisation and provide cost effective quality of work.
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic or similar who has the flexibility and capability to work on a range of fleet from heavy to light commercial vehicles and small engine equipment and has leading hand experience.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a professional team; in a safe and secure environment; and build your mechanical skills on a diverse range of mechanical equipment across various Council locations.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated work experience in light and heavy commercial vehicles, and various small engine plant and equipment
- ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- sound interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- demonstrated ability providing excellent customer service
- proven ability in solving mechanical problems and undertaking preventative maintenance
- fundamental computer literacy
- possession of a current HR (heavy rigid) Licence or the ability to acquire one
- Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent Trade Certificate III in a Mechanical discipline.
