Permanent, Full-Time position • 35 hours • 5 days per week (Monday – Friday) • Competitive Salary - $102,853.98 - $112,701.67 pa + 12% super.
Job Description
Are you an experienced contracts professional ready to make a real impact in the Circular Economy space? Liverpool City Council is looking for a Waste Contracts Specialist to lead the management of high-value and high-risk contracts, ensuring compliance, maximising value, and driving better outcomes for our community. This role involves:
- Develop, maintain and apply Council’s Contract Management system to align with best practice, legislation, and industry standards.
- Manage all major waste contracts from acceptance through to renewal or close out, including performance monitoring, risk mitigation and dispute resolution.
- Provide expert advice to project managers, procurement teams, and senior leadership on commercial terms, governance structures, and supplier performance strategies.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers to drive performance improvements and deliver organisational benefits.
- Develop and deliver contract management training programs for Council staff.
About You
What we’re looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in law, contract management or related field, or significant senior-level experience.
- Strong background in contract administration, procurement and dispute resolution.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to balance compliance, probity and risk with innovative solutions.
