**Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities**

The duties of the Job Skills and Pathways** **coordinator for Years 7 to 12 includes;
**_ Careers and Pathways_**_ _
- Promote pathway options to all students without bias, including education and employment options
- Coordinate and provide appropriate Career and Pathway Advice to students
- Assist students to research and investigate career pathways of interest to inform decision making
- Inform and advise students of tertiary education requirements and prerequisites, Open Days in TAFES, Colleges and Universities, scholarship programs, fee structures, SEAS etc. through a variety of means including assemblies, presentations to parents and students, school newsletters, social media and Careers page.
- Manage information rollout in relation to VTAC and other study options for Year 12 students, including counselling for course selection and briefing on selection methods used by tertiary institutions.
- Attend professional learning to maintain and extend knowledge in the area of careers and to develop professional networks and relationships with institutions and employers.
- Participate in the local careers advisors networks.
- Establish and foster relationships with industry and tertiary providers to enhance programs and opportunities for students
- Keeping school staff and leaders abreast of developments in post-secondary training and education and employment trends and contribute to cross-curriculum programs such as VET in schools.
- Produce various careers publications for secondary students e.g. providing students leaving school with relevant contacts and support materials for future career choices and procedures.
- Ensuring 6 month and 12 month follow up of student destinations upon leaving the College.
- Ensure 3 month and 6 month follow up of students who are successfully granted Department exemption from school.
- Providing a Careers library of up-to-date and relevant information on careers and post-secondary education and training options, including the online College Career page.
- Inform the school community on a regular basis of jobs, skills, and pathway activities in weekly careers section on the College newsletter and Compass posts/communication to students and families when required.
- Inform the school community about labour market developments and how that impacts on student career and job options.
- Coordinate access to learning opportunities beyond the mainstream College curriculum, setting and delivery through traineeships, apprenticeships, work experience and Structured Workplace Learning (SWL).
- Provide support to students seeking employment pathways including resume development, interview assistance, employment contacts and support services.
- Work closely with the Senior and Middle Years Leaders to ensure data / documentation is accurate.
- Work closely with the VCE VM teachers to provide tailored careers information and Structured Workplace Learning to the VCE VM students.
- Organise and facilitate Morrisby interviews for Year 9 students.

- Implement and embed the TSC 7 - 12 Careers Framework within the College, developing learning and teaching programs that build skills students need to take their place in the world of work.
