**About the role**:
The William Angliss Institute, Skills and Jobs Centre (SJC) is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Career Advisor. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to deliver expert guidance to diverse clients including prospective students, employers, local industry, community groups and unemployed regarding training, career development and employment opportunities. The Career Advisor will play a vital role in delivering the necessary support services through the Skills and Jobs Centre, fostering professional growth and employment prospects for all stakeholders.

**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Provide advice to prospective clients, employers, local industry, community groups and unemployed regarding training, career development and employment opportunities across the TAFE sector.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, case manage prospective clients from initial enquiry to ensure clients are successfully directed into the appropriate Skills and Jobs Centre support services.
- Facilitate and conduct individual and group information sessions on the range of support services offered by the Skills and Jobs Centre.
- Engage with individuals, groups, internal and external stakeholders to collaborate with network members and ensure that all government requirements for the Skills and Jobs Centre are monitored and implemented.
- Assist in the coordination of the delivery of events for prospective clients including giving presentations, attending career events and networking meetings to support the Skills and Jobs Centre.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience to exceed the customer service standards of the Institute and meet the minimum Skills and Jobs Centre charter standards.

- A relevant tertiary qualification in career development or career counselling, such as a Certificate IV in Career Development or a Graduate Certificate in Careers Education and Development; or a suitable combination of lesser qualifications and significant relevant experience.
- Previous experience in a career support role ideally within the education sector.
- High level of computer skills and proficiency in database management.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including writing for a range of audiences and purposes, strong verbal communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with colleagues to deliver successful events, and to work effectively under pressure at times.
