**About the role**

Rewarding opportunity to be part of a team that supports schools and students in providing essential services and support. The role will:

- Undertake assessments, provide advice support and education, to reporters in relation to response options for students where there are child protection concerns
- Undertake accurate and timely recording of reports received
- Provide appropriate referral pathways to reporters for students and their families
- Provide advice to Child Wellbeing Unit management on critical issues
- Work with management, customers, community partners and other government organisations to improve service delivery.

This role works within an inbound contact centre and functions on a roster basis. The Child Wellbeing Unit hours of operation are from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday.

**About you**
- Child protection practice and experience, including front line child protection work with families, and direct work with professionals within child protection.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in effective use of databases (such as ChildStory).
- Demonstrated effective time management skills
- A working understanding of the legislation governing child protection within NSW.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check)
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
