**About the Role**:
The Emergency Management Planning Coordinator is a key and active leader within the Emergency Communications Services (ECS) department, coordinating the delivering of enterprise-wide resilience and emergency planning and response services. This position will co-lead the emergency management services to meet desired customer experiences and outcomes and will influence and drive strategies to ensure 000VIC can maintain availability and continuity of service during surge events and incidents.

The design and delivery of emergency planning activities and business continuity functions are critical to the effective management of large-scale emergencies at state and national level.

This role is required to participate in an on-call roster and may be required to work reasonable overtime.

Day to day responsibilities include:

- Providing input into the management of State-wide and internal incidents that may impact emergency service response and the community.
- Drive continuous improvement of operational response resources.
- Support the Operations Leadership Team with the identification and assessment of operational risk and review of risk profiles, risk register upkeep and workshops.
- Track and drive recommendations from audits, post incident reviews, lessons learned, and reports that impact ECS.

**About You**:

- Substantial experience in managing operational business continuity and/or incident management
- Demonstrable experience in customer and stakeholder management within a business service, emergency planning or incident management environment.
- Proven capabilities in relationship building, influencing, and negotiating skills, with a focus on managing incidents and complex resilience and business continuity matters.
- Well honed leadership skills, complimented with strong interpersonal capabilities.
- A diploma or other tertiary qualification in emergency management or related discipline would be highly regarded

Additionally, an understanding of emergency services, communications centres, emergency management, telecommunications, employee relations and relevant Government Policy would be ideal.
