**About the position**

The La Trobe Confucius Institute (LTCI) was established in 2011 in partnership with Chongqing University, located in Chongqing City, China. LTCI offers language and cultural programs to promote cross-cultural communication. The essential services include Chinese language and cultural training, cultural events, translation services, cross-cultural communication workshops and other community engagement projects.

Reporting to the Manager of Confucius Institute, the Program Coordinator is required to effectively plan, coordinate, and implement essential programs and projects of the Institute. This position is also required to engage with key stakeholders, including the local community and the partner university in China, in carrying out activities.

**Skills and Experience**

To be considered for this position, you will have;
- An appropriate tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience, preferably in the higher education sector or an equivalent.
- Excellent written and oral language skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience in successfully supporting project outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing events and programs with competent skills in marketing.

**Desirable**
- Translation experience and skills/qualifications (Chinese-English language pair)
