By leading a team of technologists through project and Business as usual work, you will be playing a vital role in helping make government services simple so people can get on with their lives.

**Assistant Director's **in TDP, lead busy, high-performing teams to deliver on specific technology priorities. You’ll work in collaboration with other technology teams, business area colleagues and service delivery stakeholders to drive results. At a day-to-day level you’ll provide strategic oversight and operational leadership on a range of complex issues. You’ll plan, monitor and manage risks, support your team to meet their governance obligations, manage your team’s resources through effective workforce planning and provide guidance and administrative support to management and colleagues where required.

As a leader, you’ll support and guide your team through times of change—a constant in a technology workforce—maintaining a positive outlook and fostering resilience in the face of change. To thrive in this role, you’ll need to maintain a good understanding of the strategic and operational priorities not only for your own team but also for the branch, division and agency as a whole. Knowing how your team contributes to the bigger picture will be an important part of leading your team to successful outcomes.

This role requires someone with excellent analytical, research, strategic planning and project management skills, and attention to detail. Strong organisational, time management and administrative skills will set you up for success as you’ll often be managing competing priorities.
