If you’re an experienced Studio Manager who is looking to lead a small creative team in delivering excellent designs for products and brands for both local and international markets, then this might be the dream role for you.
Our client is an established Australian pharmaceutical company who are leaders in the skin care market. They’ve managed to create a company culture that builds dedication to the business and as a result, they have very little turnover within the business. This role really is a combination of Studio Management, Project Management with systems and processes and Creative Design work - with plenty of opportunity to grow
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the management and leadership of the Global Design Team, ensuring that all work gets delivered on time by planning workloads and monitoring and maintaining team performance measures. You’ll be the one who will set, manage and deliver against team and project budgets, and you’ll be able to do this while ensuring that your team is on board and contributing towards a positive company culture.
You’ll also be required to manage and oversee multiple simultaneous studio projects to a consistently high standard. You’ll be able to gain a great understanding of the strengths and weaknesses within your studio and plan projects out to ensure that a high work consistency is maintained. This may include reviewing and managing the studio technical platforms, processes and infrastructure while also being able to recommend accordingly to help improve on efficiencies and productivity.
Ideally you’ll have come from a creative background yourself and perhaps have been a graphic designer at one point, so that you can understand and drive the creative process from end to end. This is a role where your input on the creative is going to be required, and you may be required to assist in the development and launch of new products through your expertise in product design concept, finished art process, and print packaging.
You’ll have the ability to manage daily operations, undertake administration tasks, manage timelines, assist in preparation of proposals, and meet deadlines while enriching the studio culture.
You’ll have experience in dealing with internal stakeholders and be a collaborator in ensuring there is same page understanding on projects.
You’ll also be required to manage external suppliers and vendor relationships.
This really is a role for someone with strong leadership and people management skills and you’ll ideally have 5 years experience minimum as a studio manager and/or creative designer. You’ll also ideally have 3-5 years experience working within a packaging/pre-press/production/creative design industry.
Software wise, this is a MAC environment using Creative Suite and you’ll ideally have a familiarity with workflow management systems.
This role is based in the South East Suburbs and is a hybrid role with a couple of days onsite and a couple of days working from home.
