**About the Role**

What we are looking for:
The Community Strengthening Directorate has an exciting Band 7, Team Leader role to work within an exciting and culturally diverse community, in an organisation with a reputation for investing in the development of their people.

Reporting to the Manger Safe Active and Connected Communities, you will lead a high-performance team to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups. You will play a key role in planning and policy development for volunteers and an extensive community funding program.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Planning, Community Development, Social Sciences, Social Research or equivalent with significant subsequent demonstrated relevant experience or alternatively lesser formal qualifications with extensive demonstrated relevant experience. Relevant experience should include:

- Supervising and managing Volunteer and Community Development programs in a large organisation.
- Expertise in advocating, developing, implementing, and communicating strategies, policies, and programs, including delivering an effective Community Funding Program.
- Consultation and advocacy skills to build relationships, collaborate and advocate within a diverse Community.
- Experience in the social, political, and legal frameworks in which Local Government operates thinking operationally and strategically to conceive feasible and innovative solutions to complex political and social issues.
- Proven track record in managing and leading a team to achieve business objectives, with experience in implementing Human Resource policies and procedures including Recruitment and Selection, development of Position Descriptions and managing Performance Development plans for staff.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills, incorporating verbal and written communication, influencing, advocacy, facilitation, and presentation skills.
