**About the role**
Glen Eira City Council is seeking a passionate and professional Civic Compliance Officer to join our committed and driven Civic Compliance team.

The Civic Compliance Officer plays an integral role within the community and organisation, administering relevant Acts, Council's Local Laws, Procedures and Policies consistently through the municipality in a courteous and reasonable manner.
- Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:_
- Ensure initial and follow up inspections are carried out as directed
- Attend to out of hours complaints from the public
- Initiate appropriate actions for non-compliance
- Carry out an annual door knock pertaining to animal registrations
- Patrol and enforce on and off leash areas in public places and parks
- Administrative tasks, correspondence and communication with various stakeholders

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have a polite and diplomatic way of communicating compliance, focusing on educating over enforcing where possible. You will have strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations, effectively managing expectations of both residents and alleged offenders.
- The following is also required:_
- Certificate IV in Animal Control & Regulation or willing to obtain
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act, Road Safety Act, Road Rules Victoria, Litter Act, Domestic Animals Act and other relevant Legislation
- Current Victorian Driver's licence
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rotating roster
