About the Role:
The Credit and Affordability business unit has functional ownership and responsibility for overseeing all operational tasks associated with receiving, allocating and processing customer payments including returns and refunds.

As the Payments Specialist you will support the Payments Operations manager and actively contribute to the enhancement of payments operations and processes to achieve best-in-class standards. You will be required to closely collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of relevant processes, addressing operational trends and issues and identifying and implementing additional improvement opportunities.

What you’ll do:
- Design, implement and operate operational controls and reporting to ensure effective and efficient operation of processes.-
- Ensure ongoing compliance (quality adherence, regulatory & contractual) of payments processes.- Perform root cause analysis and issue identification, management, and remediation.- Manage business incidents from identification to resolution including any remediation activities.- Lead and manage end-to-end business improvement initiatives to improve customer experience, drive operational efficiencies and/or to reduce costs.- Identify emerging technology and innovation opportunities to improve the payment experience.

About you:
- Strong analytical, reporting and data skills (including SQL) with focus on attention to detail- Ability to engage stakeholders, conduct workshops to define, capture and document needs and business requirements.- Strong verbal and written communication skills- Experience with process management and understanding of business drivers, preferably in the utilities sector.- Deep understanding of SAP, AGL Retail Processes and project management methodologies is highly desirable- Wookie and Jbilling would be preferable
