**The opportunity**

We have a Fixed Term Full-Time opportunity (Until 30/5/24) for an Event Advisor to join the People and Culture Division in the Office of the Chief People Officer. Our team has adopted a hybrid way of working. We come together at least once a week at the team hub in Sydney city.

In this role you will work in a specialised environment where novel approaches are required to redefine standards, ensuring all elements of event planning and management are aligned to Transports Policies, Procedures and standard protocols. The role provides guidance, advice and governance on all Transport events to ensure an efficient, effective program which reinforces the organisation’s brand, values, behaviours and policy requirements throughout the Transport cluster.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Advise and review internal and external corporate events including staff recognition events, leadership forums, roadshows, celebratory and milestone events, and ensure all initiatives and activities are aligned to Transport’s governance and guidelines
- Develop or modify systems based on operational procedures and business plans, whilst monitoring and tracking events and conference governance requirements to highlight any associated risks
- Provide expert advice on standard approaches to the delivery of events to ensure they are within budget and that they reinforce Transport’s policy, brand, values and vision
- Ensure protocols, standards and governance are considered during event planning, and provide advisory service and guidance to all of Transport on events
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders to ensure quality, cost-effective and timely provision of goods and services to support the delivery of high-quality corporate events

**About you**

We are looking for an approachable and proactive event management professional with demonstrated experience in managing a range of events for a large complex organisation. You will have a can-do attitude, excellent communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with solid experience operating both autonomously and under direction in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role it is essential that you can deliver a strategic approach to events, implementing solutions that achieve consistent standard governance and reinforce the organisation brand, goals, and vision. Confident using the Microsoft Office Suite as well as online event systems like Cvent you will be skilled when it comes to building your own registrations and reports. While not essential, exhibition event experience along with a valid driver’s licence would be beneficial.

**Benefits**

The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 8 ($123,470 - $138,284) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
