Every day in Channel Comms & Events can look a little bit different. One day, you may be consulting with leaders or designing a communications strategy, and the next you may be producing a video masterpiece or supporting an exciting event for Customer Success.

About the Role

The Communications Advisor is a key partner for senior leaders, consulting and delivering communications and event strategies that move people to action. They work closely with leaders to drive visibility, representation of voice and to help people navigate through change.

The Communications Advisor is responsible for creating engaging communication and event experiences that connect our people with our vision and strategy.

Growing trust in leadership and direction is an essential ingredient and requires the Communications Advisor to really draw on our Optus behaviours to understand the challenges and provide multiple viable solutions.

Through their work, the Communications Advisor helps to connect the dots, drive excitement for the future and ultimately create better customer experiences.

They will deliver this through:

- Strong written communications that help draw the ‘why’
- Visual communication (graphic design)
- Video production
- Formal and informal events
- Leadership coaching to improve communication effectiveness

This role has the following key functions:

- Contribute to and execute the communications & events strategy
- Craft communication plans that drive performance and engagement outcomes
- Co-create experiences that inspire and excite our people for the future
- Drive leadership visibility and approachability
- Consult with stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve communication
- Driving adoption of our primary platform, MyHub
- Conduct regular PIR’s to constantly raise the bar on performance

About you
- You're highly organised, resilient and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- You’re a word-wizard with an eye for design
- You have a strong understanding of video production, or are willing to dive in head-first to learn
- You have a good understanding of what makes people tick
- You’re a master in managing stakeholders and balancing multiple projects at once
- You can work autonomously and are highly motivated, with a strong track record of living the Optus behaviours.
