**Position Purpose**

Reporting to the National Manager HSE, the HSE Advisor will be responsible to assist the operations team in the implementation and management of the HSEMS tools and arrangements at client sites.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Advise the Management, Supervisors and client representatives on matters relating to HSE and promote awareness of these matters by participating in meetings, consultation reviews and ‘toolbox’ talks with the work teams and other stakeholders.
- Support Management to communicate HSE Procedures and Plans to the site supervision and personnel.
- Monitor the implementation of Contractor and Company safe working procedures and practices and be satisfied they are being applied effectively.
- Keep the National Manager HSE advised on HSE performance and assist in HSE reviews
- Assist management, supervisors and workers with hazard identification and in the review of safe work method and environment statements
- Assist management with health & safety committee matters, including attending when requested
- Carry out regular Site Inspections of the client facilities and work locations with management
- Support the audit program, including carry out internal ISO certification audits, external audit requests, and verify and validate the corrective actions are closed out.
- Provide research and SME support to the operations team as required
- Working closely with the relevant business unit heads to regularly review and continuously improve the HSE management systems and move towards international best practice;
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders including external agencies regarding operational risk, safety and environment;
- Immediately stop any unsafe work practices which are likely to cause harm to the safety and health of people, the environment or assets or are non-compliant with Statutory and/or Site regulations, and bring the occurrence to the attention of the site supervisor and National Manager HSE
- Advise management on relevant HSE resources for the operational team to enable them to complete their duties effectively and efficiently
- Facilitate hazard, event and near miss reporting and investigation via RiskMan (where practicable) and support management in investigation and close out of corrective and preventative actions
- Promote an environment of psychological safety where workers feel able to discuss and report concerns

**Qualifications**

Mandatory
- Diploma / Cert. IV Risk & Security Management
- Cert. IV Health & Safety
- Minimum 4 years experience in safety and environment

Desirable
- Auditor qualification
- Cert. IV Training and Assessment
- Root Cause Analysis Investigation - ICAM or TapRoot
- Railway Industry Workers Card
- Aviation Security Identification Card
- Radiation Safety Officer
