The Power System Advisory is a key role in the newly established Center of Excellence for Engineering (CoEE) of Hitachi Energy Grid Edge Solutions that design and supply green energy solutions, from microgrids to utility scale, based on Battery Energy Storage Systems. The Power System Advisory will operate in team of globally located Engineering Specialists and will lead the Power Simulations Team. The target of the role is to develop the business related the analysis of the renewable energy market requirements and find technical feasible solutions. The feasibility studies include technoeconomic studies and tools as well as static and dynamic models and simulations of complex distributions systems integrating the Hitachi Energy Portfolio component models and third-party ones. The Power System Advisory will also play a key role in supporting the Sales and Operation Units processes of Hitachi Energy Battery Energy Storage Systems.
**Responsibilities**:
- The Power System Advisory will be responsible to interface the clients to understand their needs, providing expert advises and develop solutions based on Power Systems models and simulations on Static and Dynamic Simulation environments.
- Analysis, modelling and simulation of the requirements of the applicable Grid Codes.
- Working closely with the Regional Tender Specialist and will be responsible for providing practical & applicable solution for client and ensuring that technical requirements are met.
- Maintaining compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations while monitoring and reporting progress and results. Assessing risks and safety hazards and implements plans to ensure people and equipment safety.
- Leveraging support from Regional Tender Specialists, Engineering Specialist, the Hubs’ delivery/execution teams and INOPC Support to develop specification of systems and solutions to meet customer needs.
Your background
- Electrical Engineering or related field
- At least 5 years of experience with specific technical expertise in power system modelling and simulations.
- Having good knowledge about modelling and simulation environments: PSCAD, DIgSilent Powerfactory, PSS®E.
- Having good knowledge of at least one national Grid Code
- Detailed know how of standards, regulations, and market requirements
- Knowledge of the global power market
- Strong technical background, preferably in the power engineering or energy industry
- Experience and mindset on customer satisfaction
- Pragmatic, focused on achieving results, at the same time giving necessary attention to detail to ensure consistent, correct, timely completion or risk review process
- Problem solving, open minded, resolute, open to discussion
- Comfortable to work in a very dynamic delivery environment in a challenging market
- Connecting with other people easily, focus on “getting the job done and done right”, teamwork, leadership, negotiation skills.
- English language (fluent) is a must
