**Where you'll be working**:
The Newcastle Sexual Assault Service (NSAS) sits on the beautiful land of the Awabakal people and operates out of the Harker Building at the Wallsend Health Campus where this position is based. The Service also operates a 24-hour crisis response service from the John Hunter Hospital. **About the role**:
The role promotes and provides timely, effective, and culturally safe service provision to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients through direct service delivery, cultural consultation, and collaboration with the Newcastle Sexual Assault Service and the Violence Abuse and Neglect stream.
- You will provide culturally led psychosocial assessment and therapeutic services to victims of sexual assault (children and adults) and their non-offending family members
- You will be supported by the Team Leader and other Clinicians of the Newcastle Sexual Assault Service (NSAS)
- The Team Leader will organise and support a robust orientation period
- There are many training opportunities available through the Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV)
- You will be provided with clinical and cultural supervision external to the support offered at NSAS
- You will have opportunities to connect and collaborate with the Aboriginal Family Wellbeing and Violence Prevention Worker (VAN) attached to the Child Protection Counselling Team located in the same building as the Newcastle Sexual Assault Service

**Requirements**:

- Must hold a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association/full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Must participate in the Sexual Assault on-call roster and provide consultation and/or supervision to other staff regarding sexual assault
- Must participate in regular clinical supervision
- Eligible to drive in NSW
