**About the role**:

- If you are looking for a role with variety this is the role for you. You will have the opportunity to undertake psycho-social assessments and offer counselling to people who have experienced sexual assault. Working with children, adolescents and adults. Making a valuable contribution to the intake/triage space and providing psycho-social crisis responses.
- There is an after-hours roster that you will be asked to participate in. The great news is that the after-hours service is so well-staffed that the expectation is never more than two (2) shifts a month and you get to nominate your shifts
- You will also be encouraged to attend clinical supervision within work hours and we can help to facilitate connections with experienced supervisors.
- As a Team we have weekly clinical review meetings where we learn from each other.

- The Newcastle Sexual Assault Service sits on the land of the Awabakal people and operates out of the Harker Building on the Wallsend Health Campus.
- The Service also provides a 24-hour crisis forensic medical and psycho-social response from the John Hunter Hospital.
- Our fabulous counselling staff and outstanding forensic medical team work in collaboration to provide high-quality service provision.

**Requirements**:

- Must hold as a minimum a Bachelor degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Applicants must be Female - Under Section 31 (2) (h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel between sites for work if required.

**About you**:

- You will be a team player who has experience providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to people who have experienced trauma.
- You will be supported to grow your skills in the provision of specialist therapeutic counselling and case management services to people who have experienced sexual assault.
- You bring with you demonstrated skill, knowledge and experience undertaking comprehensive psycho-social assessments and work in crisis intervention.
