**About the role**

With safety at the heart of our agenda we are seeking a fatigue and human factors specialist to join our team. In this business critical role you will be integral in shaping the future of fatigue management and human factors policy through safety programs, policy and legislative reforms that focus on reducing fatalities and serious injury on our roads.

This role will
- Support the Manager Fatigue and Human Factors to deliver development of policy advice and strategic planning in the area of Fatigue and Human Factors.
- Undertake research on matters relevant to the role, analyse data, issues and trends, and prepare quality evidence-based policy proposals, briefings and correspondence
- Proactively contribute to developing, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving strategic and operational policy, procedures, guidelines and regulations
- Liaise and consult with government agencies (federal, state and local), industry and other stakeholders, including representing the NHVR on committees and working groups as required.
- Build and maintain professional networks and effective relationships

The role would suit a Fatigue & Human Factors practitioner with impeccable communication and stakeholder management skills who can become a trusted partner to our people and our projects. As an exceptional fatigue and human factors professional, you will have expert knowledge of driving and or shift work fatigue along with legislative and policy reform experience in a complex business environment. Previous success in actively participating in a program of works that delivered improved safety outcomes and the role of human factors will be fundamental in this role.

As a natural communicator you will enjoy fostering authentic relationships through building rapport and trust with your ease at translating complex and technical language to a diverse stakeholder group.

The ability to solve complex problems through analytical and out of the box thinking will be familiar to you. Along with your meticulous approach to planning and balancing competing priorities, your understanding of regulatory issues and concepts will be integral to this position.

You’ll be great in this role if you have formal qualifications in a safety related discipline such as Human Factors, Fatigue Risk Management or Statistical Analysis
