**The Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity in the Women’s and Babies Division as **Midwifery Unit Manager** - Antenatal Gynaecology Ward** - **in a **Full Time Ongoing - Permanent** capacity.

As the Midwifery Unit Manager you will provide leadership of nurses/midwives in the Antenatal Gynaecology Ward at the Women's and Children's Hospital.

The main focus of this role is the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing/midwifery and/or multi-disciplinary team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient/client care and outcomes.

Employees in this role accept accountability for the outcomes of nursing/midwifery practices and/or multidisciplinary outcomes in the specific practice setting; for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy; and for developing team performance and a positive work culture in the interest of patient/client outcomes.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you should be a registered Midwife or Nurse and Midwife (with a current practicing certificate) with at least 3 years post registration experience and:

- Experience in management and leadership roles
- Highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team including the ability to work with individuals and to foster productive working relationships across disciplines
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills to motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes and facilitate change management within sphere of influence
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines
- Ability foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential and positive workplace environments
