**About the Department of General Practice**
The Department of General Practice originated as a unit within the Department of Community Medicine in 1977. It was established as a separate department within the School of Medicine in 2001 and established the Primary Care Research Unit (PCRU) as a centre of excellence in primary care research, research training and knowledge exchange in 2006. The Department has 68 (full time equivalent) staff supported by an operating budget of $7 million and research income of approximately $11 million annually.

With an increased profile within the Melbourne Medical School, the Department has utilised its growing network of general practitioners (GPs) and primary health care providers in the community to ensure that University of Melbourne medical students are provided with quality community-based medical education.

**About the PARTNER Network**
The PARTNER network is on a mission to improve the access of Australians living in rural and remote areas to clinical trials. We are focused on improving health equity and building clinical trial capacity in rural primary care. This will provide access to primary care populations for a broad range of investigator and industry-led trials.

The PARTNER Network is funded by the Medical Research Future Fund as part of the Australian Teletrial Program. We are establishing a network of 90 rural GP clinics across Australia to improve access to clinical trials for Australians living in rural and remote areas.

**About the Role**
As the State Coordinator for the PARTNER Network, you will work under the direction of the National Manager and the state-based Academic Lead. You will take on a leadership role to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the network within the state and work with the broader national team. You will be responsible for the recruitment of up to 15 rural GP clinics to the network and work to build strong relationships with clinics and primary health care professionals. You will support the National Manager to monitor development of the network within the state to ensure we meet our contractual milestones and deliverables to our Administering Body, Queensland Health.

Responsibilities include:

- Develop and deliver education and training activities to build capacity in primary care-based clinical trials, via the delivery of workshops, meetings, webinars or self-directed learning resources.
- Support the development of processes and documentation that guide the operations of primary care-based clinical trials.
- Recruit 15 rural general practices into PARTNER and associated processes.
- Develop and deliver education and training to practices that are part of the PARTNER network.

**About You**
You have a passion for primary care, research, and rural health, who excels in building meaningful relationships with project stakeholders, strong communication, a commitment to working effectively in a team and can manage multiple demands and competing deadlines.

You will also have:

- Relevant degree in nursing, public health, medical science, health science, health management or related discipline with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination, preferably in a healthcare setting, particularly with multiple stakeholder projects with ability to prioritise and resolve critical issues efficiently and effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated high-level of analytical and problem-solving skills in a health or related setting, showing the capacity to work both autonomously and in a team environment on a range of diverse issues to meet project or program quality requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical trial regulations, legislation and ICH-GCP Guidelines.
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
