**The Position**
You will be coming on board to lead teams in the Availability and End to End Efficiency missions under the everyday rewards tribe. You will partner with product, experience, and architecture teams to influence our products' direction and devise an agile delivery plan to get there. You will be responsible for building your teams, providing strategic thinking and leadership to empower your teams to achieve their goals. The most exciting part of the role focuses on growing your direct reports' capabilities and strengthening our agile culture, driving innovation and creativity.
**Further, responsibilities include**
- Devise tech strategy aligned with the business strategy and partner with Tribe and Product Leads to execute the tech and business strategies effectively
- Drive change to build, showcase and share technology best practices and evangelise engineering practice across the business
- Work closely with the stakeholder to propose resourcing strategy and assist in recruiting and hiring top talent
- Actively drive the team from inception, ideation and implementation phases
- Effectively managing expectations and proactively resolving structural, cultural, process and organisational issues both within and outside of the tribe
- Actively monitoring progress, mitigating risks and dependencies and providing updates to the executive team Coordinate with other engineering leaders within and outside the tribe on joint initiatives, dependencies and sharing experiences and best practices
**About you**
- You are a leader with demonstrated experience in managing and leading multidisciplinary engineering teams with a focus on business results, not output
- You are a passionate problem-solver, a forward-thinker who can grow, change, challenge and can support and manage escalated technical challenges.
- You have strong organisational and communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of stakeholders.
- You are naturally curious and empathetic, who thinks differently and thinks big. You deal with complexity by collaborating with colleagues, listening to customers, testing ideas and continuously learning. You take authorship for what you create.
**Essential Skills**
- Demonstrable tech leadership experience.
- Strong experience in modern engineering practices and disciplines.
- Ability to stay calm in challenging circumstances and work through problems methodically.
- Ability to question decisions and challenge the status quo.
- Be details oriented. Good understanding of Agile & Lean delivery principles. Provide input to team processes.
**Technical Skills**
- Node.js
- APIGEE
- PostgreSQL
- Microservices
- AWS
- REST APIs
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevOps, automation
- Experience with event streaming, service bus or message queues (Azure Event Hubs, Kafka or similar) Strong understanding of web security (OWASP TOP 10, etc.)
**Desirable Skills**
- Working with Docker containers
- Experience in working with NoSql databases
- Experience with microservice architectures Experience with javascript frameworks such as Angular or React
