The Coordinator, Primary Prevention is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of education, awareness and engagement initiatives which contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive campus environment. This role sits within the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division and works closely with other staff members delivering Deakin’s gender equity, respect and inclusion program of work.

The position leads the development and delivery of campaigns, education and training targeting all areas of the University which seek to increase understanding of the gendered drivers of violence and bring about changes in attitudes and behaviours. The Coordinator, Primary Prevention will also review, evaluate and report on relevant strategic initiatives, and collaborate with online educators to develop, implement and monitor online training modules.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Distilling the core issues from complex information, drawing accurate conclusions and condense complex information and next steps into simple concise terms that others can understand
- Establishing and demonstrating a high level of learning, energy and commitment and maintain personal integrity and make decisions consistent with University values
- Seeking feedback on improvement opportunities from a diverse range of key stakeholders and implement change through appropriate channels and overcomes obstacles to change
- Developing and implementing practical, accessible solutions based on stakeholder needs
- Planning and prioritising work and critical activities appropriately and recognising barriers to achieving outcomes, finding effective ways to deal with them and evaluates progress

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- A degree in education, social work, public health, behavioural science, psychology, with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and tailor training and education programs to suit a wide range of audiences.
- Extensive experience in program and project management and delivery within a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of primary prevention approaches in the areas of sexual harm, family violence, and gendered violence.
