Are you looking for a senior role where you can use your extensive product development experience to manage an engineering team? Do you relish the challenge of designing, planning, implementing, managing and controlling an exciting portfolio of products? Our client is on the lookout for a Global Head of Product to lead and motivate a team, perform a key role in developing business strategy and operations and improve process and systems.

**About the company**

My client is a reputable producer of innovative, trusted products in the outdoor consumer industry. They design, engineer and manufacture industry-leading equipment that inspires adventure.

**Role and **Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Managing Director and accountable to the Leadership Team, you will:

- Manage the Engineering team and design contractors
- Evaluate risks and opportunities for new and current products (IP, cost, safety, quality etc.)
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain on product manufacturability
- Manage the department budget
- Undertake DFM, DFQ projects in collaboration with Operations, Sales and Marketing
- Help develop business strategy: identify, design and implement key business improvement projects, related operational strategies, processes and systems
- Manage product compliance, regulatory, performance and quality specifications
- Plan processes including development of time lines, BOM, manuals etc.
- Prepare monthly reports and forecasts and identify key issues and action required
- Manage and measure work through systems
- Develop and mentor staff to achieve company performance standards
- Ensure policies and procedures are developed and adhered to with an emphasis on internal controls and safe workplace
- Provide business reports to executive management

**Your Skills and Experience**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to engage at all levels in the business from the factory floor to the CEO
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Ability to interpret financial data and make recommendations for operational changes
- Proactive with an extensive understanding of business processes and procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- High level of integrity with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Hands-on approach to developing others
- Minimum 10 years of experience in senior roles with management responsibility
- Experience working in a manufacturing/assembly environment
- Engineering Degree qualification is essential
