**About the Role**:
The Technical Officer role supports the development and delivery of future-focused STEAM and Project-Based Learning at the Tech School, through the integration of technology.

The primary function of this role is to provide technical support, service and maintain equipment, manage stock control and inventory, and provide advice on the implementation of technologies within learning programs, including the development of learning resources. Particular emphasis for this role is on providing expertise that supports students to create prototypes in areas such as soft material prototyping, electronics assembly, computer-aided design for 3D printing, digital design, CNC milling and laser cutting/engraving, and VR/AR.

**Duties**:

- Set up and pack down technologies for programs and events for the Tech School.
- Lead compliance and operational procedures of the Tech School's facilities and equipment.
- Coordinate the servicing and repair of equipment.
- Provide technical support in the promotion of regular activities, events and exhibitions.
- Undertake administrative duties as required to support the efficient operation of the Tech School.
- Create, maintain and process documentation, records and data.
- Maintain equipment and workstations to ensure the efficient and safe operations.
- Liaise with the Learning Technologist and Administrative Assistant to order supplies and equipment, and maintain stock control of such items.
- Support the scoping and implementation of innovative technologies and STEM-based resources to be used by the partner schools.
- Identify potential situations that may put learners at risk, ensuring consistency with WHS, the Child Safe Standards, and respond in accordance with policies and agreed practices.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Relevant qualifications - at a minimum, a Certificate level in Design Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Computer Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Strong interest in innovative STEM industry practices, and experience working in STEM related areas such as Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Design, Design Technology or STEM Education.
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical support (including CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC) within the education or industry sectors.
- Demonstrated ICT skills a cross various systems and software such as PC, Android, Windows, Microsoft, Google and specialised CAD software packages.
- Strong understanding of Work, Health and Safety issues in relation to machinery, hand tools, electronics, materials, equipment and practices.
- Experience working in teams, systems and processes undertaking rapid change, growth and development.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including clear communication and the ability to maintain quality customer relations and service standards.
- Current Working With Children Check (Employee) and National Police Check.
- Diploma, Bachelor or Post-Graduate level qualifications in STEM field (desirable).
- Current First Aid qualifications (desirable).
