The Legislative Services Section within the Legal, Commercial and Assurance Services Directorate (LCAS), is seeking a Principal Project Officer to assist in delivering programs of complex legislative reform through the Parliamentary process.

As part of LCAS, the Principal Project Officer will contribute to the objective of providing advice, supporting the Department’s legal and legislative obligations, and improving the commercial capability of the Department. The Section is closely involved with the workings of the Motor Vehicles Act, the Road Traffic Act, the Harbors and Navigation Act, and the Passenger Transport Act, among others.

You will be provided with autonomy and genuine flexibility within a dynamic Directorate, which is focused on providing innovative solutions and customer-centred services.

**Key Selection Criteria**
Tertiary qualifications in law or other relevant discipline, and/or previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

**Special Conditions**

Attendance at Parliament to assist in the passage of legislation may be required.

Some out of hours work (including weekends, Public Holidays, and over the Christmas/New Year period), along with some intra/interstate travel may be required.

**Tenure of Vacancy**
Temporary appointment up to 12 months

**Remuneration**
ASO7 - $106,512 to $115,137 per annum
