  • The Principal Project Officer is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and delivering complex prevention, promotion, health communication and education approaches to improve public health outcomes. These may include developing a framework for the identification of evidence based quality health programs, and implementing a community grants program.
  • The role will provide expert advice and input to the development and implementation of public health policies, programs, procedures and a quantifiable unit business plan to meet the objectives of Wellbeing SA, the _South Australian Public Health Act, 2011,_ the State Public Health Plan and key health strategies.
  • The Principal Project Officer will work with, support and provide expert public health consultancy services to State Government Departments, Local Councils and other health partners to support improved population health outcomes at State, regional and local levels.
  • This position will also develop and utilise relationships with stakeholders, including through Public Health Partnership Authority agreements, across State Government, the nongovernment sector, university sector and private enterprises to facilitate the complex engagement of stakeholders that progresses public health priorities.

  • A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (mínimal patient contact)


SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
