**About the team**:
Coles Liquor team work across three leading brands (First Choice, Liquorland and Vintage Cellars), each with their own unique offering and customer base. We understand what our customers need and enjoy—and we work side-by-side with Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance and Strategy to deliver it.
We have a role within our ‘Local’ team for an Assistant Category Buying Manager - Local Wine to join and come work in a fast-paced environment within an innovative and exciting category.
**About the role**:
As the ACBM - Local Wine, you will work closely with the Local Buying Manager and will be accountable for assisting them in growing profitable category sales, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and supporting the customer-centric category strategy.
On a day to day bases you’ll be responsible for the setup, onboarding and maintenance of new suppliers plus the promotional activation of the category, leveraging commercial analysis, supplier negotiation and cross functional interpersonal skills to deliver market leading customer plans.
You’ll also:
- Ensure new suppliers and SKU’s are set up and available for our stores to order
- Monitor and manage supplier and or store issues within your respective category
- Have end to end accountability, managing, forecasting and implementing the ‘local’ trade plan across Liquorland & First Choice Liquor Market nationally,
- Gain data driven customer insights to shape the promotional and trade plans in the category,
- Execute the ‘local’ promotion, range selection and layout development,
- Assist in the ongoing sourcing of new ‘local’ suppliers and products
**About you and your skills**:
We are looking for a liquor enthusiast with experience working within an FMCG and/or retail environment and strong knowledge of the merchandising function and processes
You’ll also have:
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated through proactively sourcing customer insights and data to formulate category recommendations,
- Experience working within cross functional teams to manage and execute projects,
- Strong organisational skills and ability to plan ahead to support the category’s unique needs,
- Prior experience with promotional and trade planning,
- Exceptional stakeholder management with the ability to work closely and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives,
- Knowledge of the merchandising function and processes
