**The Position**

**St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital** is a boutique facility located right on the banks of the iconic Swan River. The hospital was established in 1932 and has a strong tradition of providing surgical services and maternity care. It is also the largest non-government provider of rehabilitation services in Western Australia, with private and publicly funded services supported by a comprehensive multidisciplinary team.

To support the hospital’s commitment to ensuring our caregivers deliver quality care and an excellent patient experience, we are seeking a committed and motivated individual to join the **Patient Services Admissions team**.

The **Manager Admission Services** will lead the Admissions caregivers to deliver a high quality, efficient and key stakeholder focused service that will support a streamlined patient admission service in line with the organisation’s values.

This role has day to day responsibility for leading a team responsible for undertaking the following key activities:

- Processing relevant (non-theatre) patient bookings (scheduled and unscheduled);
- Pre-admissions, including clinic scheduling and preparation;
- Fund checking;
- Patient estimates for uninsured / other patients;
- Preparation of informed financial consent;
- Admitting patients; and
- Switchboard and mail processing.

This role also provides day to day supervision and direction to allocated volunteers. This is a permanent full-time opportunity working 76 hours a fortnight.

- Demonstrated understanding of administrative procedures, patient management systems and funding models in an acute private hospital environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading an effective team, including: team development, performance management, HR and roster administration.
- Demonstrated experience in managing change and departmental culture across a complex business.
- Prior experience implementing service metrics and monitoring effective customer service delivery.
- Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, set priorities and meet multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing written reports and correspondence.
- Advanced computer skills across a range of MS Office software packages and business systems, as well as a keen interest and aptitude in seeking out IT enhancements.
- Demonstrated experience in project leadership and implementation.
