**About the mental health team**:
This psychiatric Services offers a comprehensive community-based adult mental health service in Bendigo, along with community-based teams situated in five rural areas across the region. These multidisciplinary teams are dedicated to providing care to individuals aged 25 to 64 living in their respective communities who are experiencing mental illness.

**Role Overview**: Working within an integrated community mental health team, the Community Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for delivering psychiatric triage, intake, assessment, treatment, psycho-education, and support to patients of Psychiatric Services and their families or carers. The role will be under the direction of the Manager and team Psychiatrist, ensuring that treatment and support provided are recovery-focused and tailored to all stages of illness.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct psychiatric triage, intake assessments, and treatment planning for individuals seeking mental health services.
- Provide psycho-education and support to patients and their families or carers to enhance understanding and coping mechanisms.
- Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Monitor and evaluate treatment progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision sessions to review cases and share knowledge.
- Actively engage in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and stay abreast of best practices in mental health care.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention as needed, particularly during out-of-hours and weekend periods, coordinating with the Regional Psychiatric Triage Service.

**Salary per hour** (exc. super): Dependent on Qualifications.

**We Are Looking For**:

- Extensive experience working with the MENTAL HEALTH ACT 2014 and relevant statewide framework.
- Strong interpersonal skills encompassing excellent communication, organisational, and negotiation abilities.
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility in handling diverse responsibilities and working in complex and challenging settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a Senior within a multidisciplinary health team and maintain positive professional relationships.
- COVID-19 Vaccinations, WWCC, NPC, AHPRA.
- Capacity to provide mentorship and supervision to less experienced clinicians.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in mental health, psychology, social work, nursing, or a related field.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
- Demonstrated experience in providing mental health assessment, treatment, and support to individuals across the lifespan.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with other professionals to achieve common goals.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented practices and evidence-based interventions in mental health care.
