The Assistant Director Workforce Strategy is responsible for:

- Leading the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the department's strategic workforce strategy, using the Department's strategic policy model.
- Engaging key internal and external stakeholders, including leaders, teachers, SSOs, corporate personnel, unions, and principal associations, to inform the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the strategy.
- Using data to research, critically analyse and develop recommendations to senior executives in relation to the department's current and future workforce needs.
- Synthesising information to develop innovative solutions to strategic workforce issues.
- Providing strategic and operational leadership to the Workforce Strategy team and effect project management support to ensure that the team delivers the work units priorities within agreed timelines

**Essential skills and Experience**:

- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of workforce strategy to influence and deliver outcomes.
- High developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proven high level of written communication, research, analysis, and consultation skills that achieve sensitive and appropriate presentation of information.
- Proven experience in planning, prioritising, developing, and delivering critical, connected, and consistent strategic educational and operational advice, plans and policies.
- Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, political nous and initiative within a complex, multidisciplinary education environment.
- Proven experience leading in a large and complex organisation at an executive level, ensuring the translation of priorities into executed deliverables.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: An appropriate tertiary qualification including post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline desirable or relevant experience.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
