**The Role**
Defence is seeking a Security Intelligence Analyst to support a diverse body of work within the Security Intelligence Directorate. In this role, you will undertake work that is complex, ambiguous and sensitive.

Under limited direction, you will perform various tasks across intelligence; security reporting and other all-source environments. Additional tasks may also include preparation of briefs; governance activities and liaison across the Defence enterprise; the National Intelligence Community and FVEYs partners. Your work will underpin sensitive security capabilities for the Defence enterprise.

Whilst a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV 1) security clearance is required to commence this role, you must be willing to obtain and maintain a Positive Vetting (PV) security clearance shortly after commencing.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. **About our Team**
The Security Intelligence Directorate’s core mission is to provide timely security intelligence and threat advice to support risk-based intelligence-led decision-making.

The Directorate is comprised of two functions:
**Counterintelligence (CI)**:

- CI team collect and assess security reporting in support of the Australian Government Contact Reporting Scheme. CI also service requests for information from across the intelligence community through providing tactical intelligence and timely reporting.

**Threat Intelligence (TI)** - The TI team identifies and reports on the six primary threat actors’ intent and capability to target Defence’s domestic non-operational environment. TI’s core deliverable is the Defence Security Threat Assessment, which is a national all-source strategic product. TI also produce tactical intelligence alerts and bulletins based on security trends and concerns identified through security reporting.
