**About the Role**
The Department of Infectious Diseases based at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (the Doherty Institute) is seeking to appoint a Project Officer for the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship (NCAS).

The Project Officer will work closely with NCAS Director Professor Karin Thursky and colleagues at The RMH Guidance Group to evaluate Guidance® program. Guidance® is a web-based antimicrobial decision support program designed by clinicians to support Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) activities in hospitals. The RMH Guidance Group adopts a Learning Health Systems framework to enable continuous improvement of all programs and products.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Lead research project management to execute the aims of the Guidance® evaluation.
- Support the partnering research lead at The RMH Guidance Group.
- Monitor contracts (or relevant sections thereof) to ensure compliance with agreements and obligations.

**Who We Are Looking For**

You will also have:

- Completion of an under-graduate degree with experience in in Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences or other relevant discipline e.g., epidemiology; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated track record in research management roles.

**Your New Team - Department of Infectious Diseases**
The Department of Infectious Diseases is a recently established department of the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences that is based at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute). Research within the department encompasses infectious diseases including antimicrobial resistance and healthcare associated infections, malaria, HIV, tuberculosis, influenza, viral hepatitis, sexually-transmitted infections, skin pathogens and emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Our researchers come from diverse backgrounds, including discovery research and basic scientists, clinician researchers, epidemiologists, public health physicians and microbiologists.
