**About the role**:
The Finance Officer is responsible delivery of Purchasing, Supplier and Audit functions on behalf of Victoria Police. More broadly, the role contributes to the FSD's remit of:

- Advise on and assist with various financial management activities in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Provision of specialised policy, financial and complex accounting advice to all stakeholders ensuring compliance with relevant government legislation and directives, accounting standards, and Victoria Police policies and procedures.
- High level of customer service and assistance to other staff when required, often using own judgement and knowledge to solve service delivery problems. Continually seek ways to improve service delivery to stakeholders

**Your duties will include**:

- Provide timely accurate customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and maintain compliance within the financial Management Act, Standing Directions of the Minister for Finance and Victoria Police policies in relation to purchasing and delegations.
- Managing the Purchasing PBEA
- Purchase order creation and amendments for Multiple Department and Commands including assets via VPFS Financials
- Provide Encumbrance Reports to internal clients
- Analyse and provide expenditure reports against purchase orders for internal clients
- Monitor temporary financial delegations against Instrument of Authorisation
- Auditing of Purchasing and Supplier activities to ensure policies are adhered to.
- Ad hoc activities including Supplier Creations

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- Well-developed conceptual, analytical, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated efficiency including strong ability to multitask, capacity to plan and prioritise work to ensure outcomes are achieved
- Strong attention to detail
- A proactive approach to your work

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
