Government Procurement

**The Government Procurement Group provides**:

- Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) procurement solutions to achieve best value;
- WoVG policy development and implementation of the State's Intellectual Property requirements;
- Procurement policy leadership supporting the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB);
- Management of the Standard Motor Vehicle Policy, VicFleet operations and the finance lease facility for government departments and agencies; and
- DTF corporate procurement operations and support

The Government Procurement group members play a key role in servicing internal and external stakeholders. It is a flexible and agile environment and having the ability to work across several areas in the group is critical.
VicFleet
VicFleet is a business unit within the Government Procurement group and provides services to mandated General Government departments and agencies, including: vehicle purchasing; finance leasing; insurance; registration; and vehicle disposal. VicFleet is responsible for:

- The provision of advice to the Minister for Government Services on fleet policy and emerging issues
- Identifying and delivering fleet management strategies to improve utilisation of the Government's fleet
- Management and provision of the WoVG finance leasing facility; including: purchasing, registration, insurance and disposal
- Operational management of major contracts including the Motor Vehicle State Purchase Contract (SPC) and the Motor Vehicle Disposals SPC
- Provision of fleet management services
- Zero emissions vehicle program including infrastructure rollout, communications, change management and stakeholder engagement

This position presents an exciting opportunity to work with the Fleet Disposals Manager to help obtain best results at disposal. You will be responsible for the preparation of vehicles by evaluating vehicle conditions and approving any repairs required prior to disposal. The ideal applicant will have experience in the mechanical and panel repair industry. The role will include the coordination of multiple internal and external stakeholders.
About the role
This position is a 12 month fixed term contract that presents an exciting opportunity to work with the Fleet Disposals Manager to help obtain best results at disposal. You will be responsible for the preparation of vehicles by evaluating vehicle conditions and approving any repairs required prior to disposal. The ideal applicant will have experience in the mechanical and panel repair industry. The role will include the coordination of multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
- Vehicle inspections, rectification and data management activities
- Plan and manage for best results all operational and administrative aspects of vehicle lease end of life disposal process
- Weekly vehicle inspections on site at the auction/disposals location and the management of any vehicle repairs deemed necessary to maximise vehicle return on disposal
- Ensure that all financial lease documentation complies with whole of Government policy and pricing guidelines
- Ensure that vehicle data is accurate within the Vehicle Lease Management System database, updating where necessary
- Prepare and analyse operational reports from the Vehicle Lease Management System database.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, representatives of the motor vehicle industry, contractors and suppliers to ensure all queries and problems are resolved effectively.
- Assess, respond and prepare policy and process changes in the work area providing input to the development of policies and procedures pertaining to vehicle selection, use and disposal.
- Recommend and implement strategies to help improve processes and resolve problems arising in the course of the VicFleet business.
