Anglicare Tasmania is a non-profit organisation providing a wide range of community services to the people of Tasmania. We are part of the national Anglicare Australia network of organisations. Anglicare advocates for social justice and aids people in times of need. We provide programs relating to health, housing, families, drug and alcohol treatment and support and more.

This position is required to undertake tenancy and maintenance functions at an Education First Youth Foyer. The Facility Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the site that include:

- Prepare leases, resolve tenancy issues, undertake unit inspections, maintain the grounds and garden, undertake minor maintenance, cleaning the communal areas, office spaces and vacated units.

The Facility Supervisor will also use coaching and Advantage Thinking to assist Students develop their living and housing skills. Provide Students information on rental properties assisting their transition from the Foyer into the community. This is a “live in” position providing after hours emergency assistance to young people residing at the site.

**The successful applicant will**:

- Have a knowledge of the issues pertaining to people experiencing homelessness and a conceptual understanding of the social and political context in which they occur and the concept of and issues associated with communal living;
- Have high level interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to; engage with young people in a respectful manner that promotes independence and resilience; and facilitate mediation and conflict resolution;
- The demonstrated capacity to undertake maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, to upkeep site to a high standard.

**The successful applicant will be required to**:

- have a schedule 1/unsupervised contact with children and vulnerable people category National Police Certificate (no older than 12 months and not an annulled record);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- undertake a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical;
- provide evidence of a booking for a COVID-19 vaccine, a copy of your COVID-19 Digital Certificate or a vaccination exemption;
- hold a Provisional or Full Australian Driver Licence
